Web Achievement Categories
Recognizing achievement in websites and blogs. These categories will recognize your web-related achievements since the beginning of 2025. You may focus on any sort of achievement, including technical improvements, creative enhancements, increased visibility and viewership, complete or partial redesign, writing, user engagement - whatever you and your team have done since the beginning of 2025 that you want to crow about.
Nominations that won in the 2026 ABAs may be resubmitted for consideration in the 2027 ABAs. If they have been updated with recent achievements, they may be submitted to the same categories in which they won. If they have not been updated, they must be submitted to categories different from those in which they won.
Information to be submitted online for entries in these categories for the 2027 ABAs will include:
a. An essay of up to 4,900 characters describing the nominated achievements, OR a video of up to five (5) minutes in length describing the same. Make sure that your entry focuses on your web-related accomplishments since the beginning of 2025, or the judges won’t rate your nomination highly.
b. Add to your entry up to 10 webpage links and up to 10 document uploads to support your case to the judges. These might be press articles, press releases, videos, or images, for example. These might be planning documents, press clippings, work samples, photographs, video clips, etc.
c. Optionally, you may list creative and production credits for your nominated achievement(s): a list of people on your team who contributed to its success.

T44. Achievement in Accessibility: This category will recognize sites for their use of features and technologies to ensure that they are perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust.
T45. Achievement in Business Blog (New for 2027): Recognizes business blogs that demonstrate excellence in content, presentation, audience engagement, and overall effectiveness in communicating information, insights, or thought leadership relevant to an organization, industry, or professional audience.
T46. Achievement in Data Visualization: Only data visualization aspects of a site will be judged. Websites that demonstrate best-in-class use of data visualization by representing complex datasets in innovative, visually appealing, and easily comprehensible ways.
T47. Achievement in Email Newsletters: Recognizes email newsletters that demonstrate excellence in content, design, organization, and audience engagement, effectively communicating information and encouraging recipients to read, interact with, or act on the content presented.
T48. Achievement in Navigation/Structure: Sites that offer the best possible user experience through superior navigation and site structure. Only information architecture will be judged.
T49. Achievement in Online Training: Recognizes websites and online platforms that effectively deliver training, education, or instructional content through engaging, accessible, and user-friendly digital experiences.
T50. Achievement in Personal Blog or Website: Recognizes personal blogs or websites that demonstrate excellence in content, design, presentation, and audience engagement while effectively communicating the creator’s expertise, ideas, experiences, or personal brand.
T51. Achievement in the Use of AI: This category will recognize innovative uses of AI and generative media tools on websites and blogs.
T52. Achievement in the Use of Photography: Recognizes websites and blogs that demonstrate outstanding use of photography to enhance storytelling, communicate information, strengthen visual identity, or improve the overall user experience. Only the use of photography will be judged.
T53. Achievement in the Use of Video or Moving Image: Recognizes websites and blogs that demonstrate outstanding use of video, animation, or other moving imagery to enhance storytelling, communicate information, engage audiences, or improve the overall user experience. Only the use of video or moving imagery will be judged.
T54. Achievement in User Experience: Recognizes websites and blogs that provide an outstanding overall user experience through intuitive functionality, usability, accessibility, content organization, responsiveness, and ease of interaction.
T55. Achievement in User Interface Design: Recognizes websites and blogs that demonstrate excellence in user interface design through effective visual organization, consistency, clarity, functionality, and interactive elements that make the site intuitive and engaging to use.
T56. Achievement in Web Design: Recognizes websites and blogs that demonstrate outstanding overall design through effective use of layout, typography, imagery, visual hierarchy, branding, and other design elements to create a cohesive and engaging digital experience.
T57. Achievement in Web Writing/Content: Recognizes websites and blogs that demonstrate excellence in written and editorial content that is clear, compelling, relevant, well organized, and effective in communicating with the intended audience.
T58. Technical Achievement of the Year: This category is for any site that sets an industry standard by using new, innovative web technology in an outstanding way that improves the overall experience.
